About The Position

Global Payments is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Express team to help shape global commerce. This position is hybrid, with three days per week in the Cincinnati, Ohio, or Denver, Colorado offices; it is not eligible for remote work or visa sponsorship. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or valid Green Card holders. The role leads technical designs for new features and services, investigates existing systems and code, and contributes to feature design, development, testing, and release. The engineer works with product management, Agile Release Train members, architects, DevOps, and other stakeholders to identify solutions within system constraints; investigates live-system issues and addresses root causes; mentors junior team members; participates in SAFe/Agile ceremonies; and assesses architectural decisions for security, availability, performance, maintainability, and scalability. The role also works with product managers and users to define system requirements and modifications. The position calls for extensive software delivery and system architecture experience, including cloud-based solutions on Azure and AWS, microservices and API development using .NET 6+, distributed services, Kafka, and containerized workloads managed with Kubernetes and OpenShift. The engineer will develop cloud strategies aligned with business objectives and help ensure cloud solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and highly available. The position is eligible for a bonus.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
At least 7 years of experience delivering software solutions.
At least 4 years of experience in system architecture and design for scalable enterprise applications.
Hands-on experience with Kafka.
Experience deploying and managing distributed applications and services on cloud platforms.
Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and best practices.
Experience designing and developing cloud-based solutions on Azure and AWS.
Experience with microservices architecture and API development using .NET 6 or later.
Expertise in developing cloud strategies aligned with business objectives, leveraging Azure and hybrid cloud environments, and managing containerized workloads using Kubernetes and OpenShift.
Must be a U.S. citizen or valid Green Card holder; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities
