[8BE] Senior Backend Engineer (.NET)
About The Position
Software Mind is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build the backend of a white-label B2B e-commerce platform for a leading US promotional products company. The platform supports multiple branded Shopify Plus storefronts and uses a decoupled microservices architecture on AWS, covering Identity, Profile, Order Management, Inventory, Pricing, Catalog, and Marketplace integrations. Existing legacy services will continue to be supported during a phased migration. The engineer will design and build scalable RESTful microservices with ASP.NET Core Web API and .NET 8, own several core services, integrate with external marketplaces and business systems, and write automated tests. The role also involves defining API contracts and inter-service communication with the Team Lead, contributing to code reviews and architecture decisions, supporting environment setup and infrastructure-as-code with DevOps, and participating in Agile ceremonies and technical discussions with the client.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of backend development experience with strong C# and .NET skills, including ASP.NET Core and .NET 6 or later.
- Understanding of clean architecture, including DDD, CQRS, repository pattern, and dependency injection.
- Experience building and integrating REST APIs, including OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Working knowledge of AWS services: Lambda, SQS, S3, and RDS or DynamoDB.
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- Knowledge of JWT and OAuth 2.0 authentication.
- Brownfield experience integrating new services into existing systems.
- Experience with Docker and containerized workflows.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and Jira.
Nice To Haves
- Retail, e-commerce, or B2B commerce experience, including catalogs, pricing engines, cart/checkout, or marketplace integrations.
- Experience with event-driven architecture, including EventBridge or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with Keycloak and multi-realm identity management.
- Experience with EF Core and Npgsql.
- Knowledge of promotional products or print-on-demand domains.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable RESTful microservices with ASP.NET Core Web API and .NET 8.
- Own core services for Order Management, Inventory, Pricing Engine, Catalog Sync, and Notifications.
- Integrate with Amazon SP-API, Walmart Marketplace API, ERP systems, payment gateways, and tax services.
- Work with legacy services during phased or partial migration.
- Write unit, integration, and BDD tests using xUnit, Reqnroll, and FluentAssertions.
- Define API contracts and inter-service communication, including SQS and EventBridge, with the Team Lead.
- Participate in code reviews and architecture decisions and help maintain engineering standards.
- Support environment setup and infrastructure-as-code with DevOps on AWS.
- Join sprint planning, stand-ups, and technical discussions with the client.
