Software Engineer, ML for EDA

ChipAgents•San Jose, CA

About The Position

ChipAgents is hiring Software Engineers to build production systems that bring machine learning research in electronic design automation (EDA) into the ChipAgents platform and customer design environments. The work supports researchers applying machine learning to power, performance, and area problems in chip design. It includes integrating with EDA tools, flows, and compute infrastructure; building data pipelines and services used by models; and making deployments repeatable across customer environments. The role works closely with ML researchers, hardware experts, and customer engineering teams. Engineers own the reliability and performance of systems used by researchers and customers, support deployments in on-premises and restricted-network settings, and turn recurring integration work into reusable tools and documentation. Customer feedback, failure cases, and feature requests are shared with research and product teams to help shape the product and roadmap. ChipAgents describes the team as fast-growing and working alongside industry veterans and real customers. The role offers scope across engineering, research collaboration, and customer-facing work, based on the employee’s strengths and interests. The company is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants of all backgrounds. Base salary is $150,000–$350,000 per year, plus equity; above-scale compensation may be discussed with exceptional candidates on a case-by-case basis. Benefits include unlimited PTO, medical, vision and dental coverage, and a 401(k). The company also offers two engineering-centric offices with free parking, a private gym, and free lunch, drinks, and snacks.
