About The Position
AEITS, a GTSC company, seeks a Software Engineer Level 2. This position is pending contract award. All work is on-site, in-person in a SCIF environment. This is not a hybrid or remote position. The role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining complex software solutions supporting mission-critical systems, large-scale data processing, advanced analytics, and enterprise applications. Responsibilities include analyzing user and system requirements, developing software design solutions, debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects and performance issues, integrating software into new and existing systems, developing and optimizing database interfaces, and creating technical documentation. The position also requires participation in Agile development activities and collaboration with various engineering teams and stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include leading software design and architecture efforts, mentoring junior engineers, overseeing technical execution, driving software quality and performance improvements, and evaluating emerging technologies.
Requirements
- 14+ years of software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical efforts and mentoring engineering teams.
- Top Secret SCI with appropriate polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex software solutions supporting mission-critical systems, large-scale data processing, advanced analytics, and enterprise applications.
- Analyze user and system requirements to develop software design solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Integrate software into new and existing systems and operating environments.
- Develop and optimize database interfaces, queries, and data repositories.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts.
- Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment.

- Support software quality assurance, configuration management, and release activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
- Lead software design and architecture efforts.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers.
- Oversee technical execution across development teams.
- Drive software quality, performance optimization, and process improvements.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and engineering approaches.
- Serve as a technical lead for large-scale software development initiatives.
