About The Position

AEITS, a GTSC company, seeks a Software Engineer Level 2. This position is pending contract award and requires all work to be performed on-site, in-person in a SCIF environment in the Annapolis Junction, Maryland area. The role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining complex software solutions for mission-critical systems, large-scale data processing, advanced analytics, and enterprise applications. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, developing software designs, debugging issues, integrating software, optimizing databases, creating documentation, and participating in Agile development activities. Collaboration with various engineering roles and stakeholders is essential, as is supporting software quality assurance and configuration management. The position also includes additional responsibilities such as leading design and architecture efforts, mentoring junior engineers, overseeing technical execution, driving quality and performance improvements, and evaluating new technologies.

Requirements

  • 14+ years of software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical efforts and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Top Secret SCI with appropriate polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex software solutions supporting mission-critical systems, large-scale data processing, advanced analytics, and enterprise applications.
  • Analyze user and system requirements to develop software design solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
  • Integrate software into new and existing systems and operating environments.
  • Develop and optimize database interfaces, queries, and data repositories.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver mission-focused solutions.
  • Support software quality assurance, configuration management, and release activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
  • Lead software design and architecture efforts.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Oversee technical execution across development teams.
  • Drive software quality, performance optimization, and process improvements.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and engineering approaches.
  • Serve as a technical lead for large-scale software development initiatives.
