As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC's Technology - Automation & Platform organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, Strongsville, OH, or Birmingham, AL. As a Software Engineer Lead, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Lead end-to-end Automation and Document AI initiatives, from solution design to production deployment. - Architect and develop AI-powered document processing solutions (classification, extraction, validation). - Drive adoption of best practices in coding, CI/CD, code quality, and security (e.g., SonarQube). - Design and implement scalable, cloud-native applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift (OCP). - Collaborate closely with business, product, and architecture teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to automation and AI engineering teams. - Ensure compliance with banking, lending, and regulatory standards. - Evaluate and integrate emerging tools and technologies in automation, GenAI, and Document AI. Requirements

Python (expert level)
Django or similar Python web frameworks
JavaScript (for UI integration or frontend orchestration)
PyCharm (or equivalent Python IDE)
Sonar / SonarQube for code quality and security scanning
OpenShift (OCP) / Kubernetes for containerized deployments
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
Strong understanding of automation architecture, microservices-based systems, and APIs
Experience building document-centric automation solutions (PDFs, forms, statements, applications)
Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar)
Familiarity with schema design, performance tuning, and transactional systems
University / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
