About The Position
SAIC is seeking Software Engineer Interns to support the U. S. Army program in creating experimental software applications located in El Paso, Texas. This role has a local focus on the University of Texas at El Paso and New Mexico State University. The intern must be local to El Paso, Texas, and willing to support the team year-round. The Software Engineer Intern will participate in developing, deploying, operating, and maintaining a suite of software applications with unique challenges in combining legacy code with some of the latest software technology.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement new software features based on project requirements
- Write clean, well-documented code adhering to coding standards and best practices
- Identify, debug, and resolve software defects
- Participate in software requirements, code reviews, and test plan reviews
- Create and maintain technical documentation for developed features
- Collaborating with team members in-person and/or via Microsoft Teams to plan, estimate, and complete projects
