About The Position

Staples is seeking an intern to join its e-Commerce team. The posting describes three available roles: Software Engineer for AI, Software Engineer for UI (Frontend), and Software Engineer for Backend (Java/Python). The intern will assist with development and testing, collaborate with team members, and learn and apply relevant technologies. The program starts June 7, 2027. Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related field, depending on the selected role.
For the AI and Backend roles, basic understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and information retrieval.
For the AI role, familiarity with Python, Java, or C++.
For the UI (Frontend) role, basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
For the UI (Frontend) role, familiarity with React.js and its core principles.
For the UI (Frontend) role, understanding of Node.js and RESTful API integration.
For the Backend (Java/Python) role, familiarity with Java or Python.
Eagerness to learn and experiment with new technologies in a collaborative environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for the AI and Backend roles.
For the UI (Frontend) role, passion for web development and UI design.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn; LangChain and LangSmith are also mentioned as a plus for the AI role.
Adaptability, flexibility, and willingness to learn quickly.
Understanding of search platforms such as Elasticsearch or Solr is a bonus for the AI role.
