We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineer Intern to join McKesson High Volume Solutions Inc. for the Summer 2027 term. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to real-world projects, learn from experienced professionals, and gain hands-on experience in software development within a dynamic healthcare technology environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
  • Strong foundational understanding of software development principles and data structures.
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python, C#).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience or personal projects demonstrating software development aptitude is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment of new features and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in accordance with established coding standards.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving software defects and performance issues.
  • Contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to McKesson's software ecosystem.
  • Document technical designs, processes, and procedures.
  • Engage in team meetings, stand-ups, and other collaborative activities.
