Software Engineer Intern

Juicebox
$60 - $60Onsite

About The Position

This is a 12-week, in-person internship based in our San Francisco office. As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll own a meaningful project that contributes directly to Juicebox’s product or engineering infrastructure. You won’t be working on a hypothetical intern assignment: you’ll build alongside our engineers, ship real work, and see how customers use what you create. Depending on your interests and the needs of the team, you might work on questions like: How can we improve the quality and ranking of our search results? What new filters or data sources could make our search engine more powerful? How can we use LLMs to make recruiters dramatically more effective? How can we improve our internal tools, developer experience, or testing infrastructure? How can we delight a new user in their first few minutes with Juicebox? Recent engineering projects have included fine-tuning models to extract insights from profiles, building feedback loops to improve search queries, and shipping new product experiences from end to end. Our stack includes Next.js, React, Node.js, OpenSearch, AWS SQS, Spark, and a variety of inference providers and LLMs. You don’t need experience with every part of our stack, but you should be excited to learn quickly by building.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field—or have developed equivalent skills through your own experience.
  • Have built something from scratch, whether through a class, personal project, research, internship, startup, or open-source contribution.
  • Enjoy solving ambiguous problems and learning by building.
  • Take ownership, ask thoughtful questions, and are comfortable seeking feedback.
  • Care about the people using what you build—not just whether the code works.
  • Experience programming in at least one language and a solid understanding of core computer science concepts.
  • Can work from our San Francisco office for the full 12-week internship.
  • Curiosity, technical foundation, pace of learning, and the quality of what you’ve built are valued over experience with our exact stack.
