About The Position
A Software Engineer Intern assists engineering teams in building, testing, and debugging applications. They write code, design features, and learn industry’s best practices while tackling real-world projects. This role provides on-the-job training and exposure to software development life cycles (SDLC). At Leidos, we outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo — because the mission demands it. Requirements
- Assists engineering teams in building, testing, and debugging applications.
- Writes code, designs features, and learns industry’s best practices while tackling real-world projects.
- Provides on-the-job training and exposure to software development life cycles (SDLC).
Responsibilities
- Write and modify clean, efficient code using languages like Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript.
- Develop unit tests, run test suites, and identify/troubleshoot software bugs.
- Work within Agile teams alongside experienced developers, product managers, and UX designers.
- Experiment with new technologies, APIs, and frameworks (e.g., AI/ML tools) to build proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Assist in maintaining technical documentation and writing specs for future development.
