About The Position

Generalist is building embodied foundation models for the physical world, with an initial focus on dexterity. The company combines AI and robotics to develop systems that allow robots to interact intelligently with the physical world.

The Software Engineer: Infrastructure broadly owns infrastructure across the stack. The role manages cloud infrastructure supporting robotics data, APIs, services, and monitoring systems. This includes providing cost-effective, high-throughput CPU and GPU compute to process petabytes of data; building and maintaining infrastructure for processing and storing that data; and maintaining the security posture of the infrastructure and data. Services are predominantly written in Python.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience managing high-scale cloud infrastructure using tools such as Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Strong familiarity with AWS services or equivalent cloud services, including their permission models.
• Strong opinions on how to properly use coding agents in an infrastructure setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage CPU and GPU compute infrastructure for cost-effective, high-throughput processing of petabytes of data.
• Build and manage infrastructure for processing and storing petabytes of data.
• Maintain the security posture of the infrastructure and data.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across the stack, including infrastructure supporting APIs, services, and monitoring systems.
