About The Position

The Software Engineer III supports engineering projects and business users, manages complex projects from requirements through implementation and delivery, troubleshoots business and production issues, and participates in discovery and high-level design for small to medium-sized projects. The role includes guiding small groups of two to three engineers, including offshore associates, and collaborating with product management, project management, business, user experience, and cross-functional teams. The position requires a master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. No specific number of years of experience is required; the employer will accept any amount of experience with the listed skills. The work location is 811 Excellence Dr, Bentonville, AR 72716. Pay is $90,000–$180,000 per year, with additional annual or quarterly performance incentives. Requirements

Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience importing data from sources using Sqoop and transferring it to HDFS in compressed format.
Experience using HDFS commands to retrieve compressed data in formats including Parquet, ORC, Avro, CSV, and JSON.
Experience analyzing large datasets with Hive SQL and tuning Hive queries for performance.
Experience executing HDFS and Unix commands using Shell Script.
Experience storing Delta files for Upsert operations on a Big-Data Ecosystem using Azure Blob.
Experience writing ETL workflows in GCP Compute Engine using Python.
Experience executing PySpark jobs in GCP Dataproc for parallel processing in distributed systems.
Experience performing transformations and analytics using BigQuery SQL in GCP.
Experience creating Azure Databricks notebooks to process multiple datasets.
Experience using GCP Secret Manager and Azure Key Vault to store confidential data and passwords.
Experience monitoring workflows with Apache Airflow.

Responsibilities

Guide small groups of two to three engineers, including offshore associates, on assigned engineering projects by providing documents, directions, examples, and timelines.
Respond to business users’ questions, concerns, and issues; research solutions; determine implementation designs; explain implications of new and enhanced systems; identify short- and long-term solutions; and direct users to appropriate contacts for issues outside the role’s domain.
Manage small to large complex projects by reviewing requirements, translating them into technical solutions, evaluating alternatives and business value, gathering project information, developing code, conducting unit tests, communicating status and issues, collaborating with teams, identifying opportunities, troubleshooting bugs, and ensuring sustainable solutions and on-time delivery.
Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering details, conducting root-cause analysis, engaging support teams, developing solutions and action plans, carrying out assigned actions, interpreting results, and completing online documentation.
Participate in discovery for small to medium-sized projects and develop high-level designs in partnership with product management, project management, business, and user experience teams.
