About The Position

As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of complex software systems for aerospace applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets stringent performance and quality standards. As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in experience in software development.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (with React preferred) and at least one backend language (Python, Go, Java).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building component libraries, design systems, or internal developer tooling
  • Familiarity with developer portal frameworks (Backstage, Port, Cortex, or equivalent)
  • Experience with package registry management (Nexus, Artifactory, GitHub Packages, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain the enterprise UI component library for use across SNC web applications
  • Operate the private package registry (npm, PyPI, Maven, etc.) that secures and distributes internal artifacts
  • Create and maintain application templates and scaffolding tools that enable teams to bootstrap production-ready services in minutes
  • Build and continuously improve the Internal Developer Portal (IDP) — a single pane of glass for service catalog, docs, templates, and platform tooling
  • Develop and maintain shared SDKs and platform libraries that standardize how teams interact with SNC infrastructure
  • Write and maintain developer documentation, guides, and enablement content
  • Collect developer feedback and measure developer productivity metrics (DORA, SPACE) to drive improvements
  • Partner with Platform Engineering and AI teams to surface platform capabilities through the IDP
