Software Engineer III

Pearson•Bloomington, MN
•$100,000 - $130,000

About The Position

This Software Engineer position is responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, unit testing, and quality engineering to produce and maintain high-quality software solutions. The role offers an opportunity to develop a new platform from its early stages using a new technology stack and processes. It requires rapidly learning new languages, business domains such as data science and psychometrics, and processes such as LLM code generation and agentic AI development. The ideal candidate takes high-level ownership of functionality, elicits requirements, fills gaps, and carries out quality processes with limited reliance on business analysts or QA engineers. They adapt to new ways of working, welcome new challenges, and can demonstrate relevant past work and successes. The engineer will develop and support a new web application stack, refine LLM-code-generation processes, build agent-driven AI architectures, work with customers to adapt tools to their needs, develop psychometrics and data-science tools in R, and operate, extend, and create cloud solutions in AWS. The role also involves maintaining code for maintainability, performance, security, and verifiability; learning new processes, tools, and domains; and working with engineering leadership to deliver robust software on time and according to best practices. The current technology stack includes AWS-hosted applications; Go, Postgres, TypeScript, Vue.js, PrimeVue, and D3; R and R data-science libraries; GitHub and GitHub-driven CI/CD; and heavily LLM-driven development. The position is full-time, with a salary range of $100,000–$130,000 and eligibility to participate in an annual incentive program. Applications will be taken until 11/2.
