About The Position

The Software Engineer III is a key member of the Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) group, contributing to or leading software efforts and proposals. The role develops software solutions that meet electrical, mechanical, and CONOPs needs for unique underwater systems, typically supporting U.S. Navy and other U.S. government Department of Defense customers. Projects range from quick-turn efforts to lifecycle management of fielded systems, providing experience across the software lifecycle and its application to fielded systems. The engineer develops and helps lead software efforts, implements software architecture decisions, and works with engineering leads, program managers, and external customers. The position supports requirements management, software documentation, unit testing, software safety testing, software qualification testing, and project CDRLs. It also involves requirements and architecture analysis, system development and implementation planning, technical presentations, hardware trade studies, and software testing and installation at factory, offsite, and offshore locations. The role includes mentoring junior team members. Schedules can be demanding, and occasional work outside normal working hours should be anticipated.
