Software Engineer II, Vehicle Platform Integrations

Aurora•Mountain View, CA
•$139,000 - $223,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Aurora is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Vehicle Platform Integrations Team. The role develops infrastructure and integrates embedded software with a modern C++ autonomy stack. It involves interaction with autonomy planning and control software, embedded-layer software, and vehicle platform commands and monitoring. The engineer will develop vehicle-platform fault monitoring and software that influences autonomous vehicles’ on-road behavior, including operating modes, fault management, and health monitoring. The role also works across software and hardware interfaces, including embedded-system simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle-system-level testing, and builds tools to automate control-subsystem testing and analysis in support of safety-critical verification standards. Development takes place in Linux-based and embedded environments. Aurora describes its mission as delivering the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly, and emphasizes safety, integrity, collaboration, and inclusion. The role follows Aurora’s expectation of working in the office at least three days per week, with some roles requiring up to five days depending on operational needs. Compensation includes a base salary range of $139,000–$223,000 per year, with eligibility for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
