About The Position

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Software Engineer II for its Short Hills, New Jersey location. This role involves contributing to the design and architecture of technology solutions, developing and implementing software, and building modern, architecturally sound components. The engineer will participate in an Agile environment, analyze technology needs, and ensure quality of service characteristics like scalability and maintainability. They will also be involved in code reviews, documentation, unit testing, and coordinating with business users and operations teams for testing and deployment, while adhering to change management and compliance requirements.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience as Software Developer, Software Engineer, or related position involving software development.
Architecting, designing, developing, implementing, and managing AWS Cloud solutions
Utilizing highly automated CI/CD pipelines , including Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, GIT, Nexus, Maven and Bitbucket
Developing software in object oriented programming languages, including C, C++, VC++, and JAVA
Web application development utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, & XML
Utilizing IDE and development tools, including IntelliJ, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, SVN, GIT, Bitbucket, Putty, WinSCP, Maven, and Nexus repository
Utilizing RDBMS and NOSQL databases, including MySQL

Responsibilities

Contribute to design and architecture for the technology solutions.
Responsible for Designing, modifying, developing, and implementing technology solutions.
Build modern, architecturally sound components, tools, and applications to meet mission-driven strategic business goals.
Participate in an environment rapidly transforming to the Agile methodology, adhering to best practices, and collaborating effectively with teammates.
Analyze technology needs and gather technical requirements.
Infuse quality of service characteristics, such as scalability, manageability, and maintainability, into distributed service-based framework to create or expand business or technical capabilities.
Participate in code and design reviews to ensure that solutions meet the enterprise standards and best practices.
Document development iterations; ensuring the quality of technical documentation; creating progress reports.
Collaborate with cross functional team members as necessary and come up with optimal solutions that meet solution demands.
Execute unit test of the developed functionality in target environment, validate expected result and ensure quality & accuracy.
Coordinate with business users for user acceptance test and with operations team for code deployment to upper environments.
Follow change management team stipulations on path to production requirements and strictly adhere to the compliance and regulatory needs.
