About The Position

As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be involved in the design, development, and implementation of software and solutions that support our aerospace products and systems. You will work on innovative projects that enhance the performance, safety, and reliability of aerospace electrical systems. You will work report directly to our Director of Engineering, working out of Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule. New hires are expected to report 100% onsite M-F for the first 90 days of employment. In this role, you will impact the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions that support Honeywell’s aerospace initiatives, helping to drive innovation and maintain our leadership in the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as SW Engineering, science, technology, or mathematics.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded systems or aerospace-related applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C and understanding of software development lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in design and testing processes.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware-software integration and debugging techniques.
  • Familiarity with aerospace software standards such as DO-178C and experience with debugging and testing embedded software.
  • Experience with avionics software development and integration
  • Experience with version control systems and software testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems, embedded software design, and aerospace industry standards.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • Internship or co-op experience in aerospace or embedded software development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test and maintain software tools and applications for aerospace systems and products.
  • Translate system and software requirements into robust implementations.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software bugs and defects.
  • Collaborate across various functional and global engineering and project engineering teams.
  • Work with engineering teams to help release design and documentation.
