About The Position

SEACORP's Combat Systems Business Area is seeking a Software Engineer II. Software Engineers research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. The candidate should have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and are able to collaborate with others while being able to handle independent tasking. SEACORP leverages its software and engineering expertise to deliver cutting edge warfare systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering/technical degree with a concentration in computer science courses.
  • At least 2 years’ experience and proven performance in software engineering, including problem analysis and resolution, requirements analysis and definition, design, code, and integration testing.
  • Candidate should have U.S. Citizenship.

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Proven knowledge and experience applying design patterns and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with C++ and/or Java, Spring Boot and ReactJS.
  • Candidate should be familiar with RedHat Enterprise Linux and git.
  • Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration.
  • Experience with combat systems, control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
  • Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
  • Participate in daily scrums, 2-3 week sprints, PI planning, demonstration and retrospective ceremonies.
  • Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
  • Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
  • Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
  • Ensures software standards are met.
