Cosmos DB provides financially backed SLA (service level agreements) around 99.99 Availability and We are looking for Software Engineers who are passionate about cloud databases and who likes taking data driven decisions and building innovative solutions to support the business growth. You will be responsible for building and optimizing solutions to build Cosmos DB services at scale. You will collaborate with engineers on the team and across services in Azure to architect, design and implement reliable, low-latency solutions for building Cosmos DB services. You will work across the stack to convert vision into a high quality, shipped feature. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Sound problem solving skills and good understanding of distributed algorithms.
  • Preferred demonstrated experience with Azure technologies (or other cloud computing platforms) and distributed database systems.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Drive to improve performance, availability and supportability of services.
  • Drive to increase efficiencies through automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain high scale services that form the backbone of Cosmos DB.
  • Dive deep into Azure technologies and distributed database systems.
  • Collaborate with partners, internal and external to Azure Cosmos DB organization, to design and build features that drive service growth.
  • Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems.
  • Build reusable libraries of services best practices for other teams to leverage.
  • Work in a culture of continuous improvement, adaptation, reflection, and growth.
