About The Position

This position requires an Active Top Secret/SCI with Fullscope Polygraph clearance to be considered. ProSync is seeking a Software Engineer II to support a small, cross‑contract engineering team responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise monitoring solutions. This role focuses on building Zabbix monitoring templates, supporting system administrators and network engineers with dashboard customization, and ensuring proper agent deployment across diverse environments. The engineer works onsite at the Columbia, MD location, collaborates closely with mission support teams, and manages incoming work through a structured JIRA ticket queue.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fourteen (14) years of experience in system engineering (OR) An Associate's Degree, a High School Diploma or GED plus eighteen (18) years of general system engineering experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with Zabbix development creating templates, dashboards, and monitoring logic.
  • Ability to write or troubleshoot scripts in Python, Java, CSC, or similar languages.
  • Experience navigating Linux environments for development and troubleshooting.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI w/ Polygraph is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with configuring or creating other Monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the evolution of enterprise monitoring platforms, transitioning from legacy tools (MaasImpact) to Zabbix and future TBD solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Zabbix templates to monitor supported applications, including hardware server certificate status and application process health.
  • Assist System Administrator (SA) and Network Engineer (NE) teams in creating, refining, and optimizing Zabbix dashboards for operational visibility.
  • Support proper deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of Zabbix agents across diverse systems and environments.
  • Develop or review scripts (Python, Java, C#, etc.) used for monitoring automation, data collection, and system integration.
  • Perform Linux user‑level tasks to support monitoring development, agent deployment, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Work from a JIRA ticket queue, attend scheduled team meetings, and collaborate with cross‑contract teammates at the Columbia, MD office.
