As a Software Engineer II, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of software systems for advanced aerospace applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets performance and quality standards. As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in experience in software development.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, with experience in a modern frontend framework (React) and a backend runtime (Node.js)
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles and practices, including testing, version control, and code review
  • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of the broader web stack: HTML/CSS, SQL, and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, and an ORM such as Drizzle or Prisma.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes-based deployment (Helm, Kustomize, or ArgoCD).
  • Exposure to integrating with AI/LLM providers or APIs.
  • Experience with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, library and artifact repository, and automated build.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral.
  • Basic understanding of data structures.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test full-stack software components for internal web applications and tools, spanning frontend, backend, and APIs.
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues.
  • Write and maintain comprehensive code documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
  • Support the integration of applications with third-party APIs and enterprise services (identity/SSO, calendar, messaging, and AI providers).
  • Build and maintain REST APIs and real-time features (WebSocket) that power internal applications.
  • Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and ORMs to design and evolve data models.
  • Containerize applications and support their deployment to Kubernetes through the team's GitOps pipeline.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Participate in the development of software requirements and specifications.
