Microsoft’s Azure Device Registry (ADR) team is hiring a Software Engineer II to build device-management capabilities in Azure. ADR provides a unified control plane for representing and managing IoT devices and industrial assets as Azure resources, with consistent identity, metadata, lifecycle management, querying, governance, and fleet operations. The platform is evolving to support broader fleet-management capabilities, including groups, jobs, certificate management, and integrations with IoT Hub and software update services. In this role, you will design, implement, test, deploy, and operate highly available Azure services and APIs for managing device fleets at scale. You will collaborate with engineers and partner teams across Azure IoT to provide secure, reliable, and usable experiences for customers. You will also use AI-assisted engineering tools in your development workflow, applying them responsibly and developing fluency with emerging AI capabilities. The position involves developing software, tools, and code for design, infrastructure, technology platforms, and commercial or end-user applications. You will use current programming languages and technologies to write code, test and debug software, and create documentation, deployment procedures, and maintenance processes. Microsoft describes its mission as empowering every person and organization to achieve more, supported by a growth mindset, innovation, collaboration, respect, integrity, accountability, and inclusion.
