About The Position

The Texas Department of Agriculture is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C#, .NET, Blazor, SQL Server, Oracle, and modern web technologies, along with experience working in an Agile environment. This is a full-time onsite role focused on delivering secure, high-quality software solutions and supporting existing business applications.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience developing web-based applications.
  • Strong experience with C#, .NET, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Experience with Blazor development.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience migrating applications from Java or Windows Forms to Blazor.
  • Knowledge of responsive web design and WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Experience with .NET Core 9.0, Visual Studio, DevExpress, or mobile application development.
  • Previous experience supporting Texas Department of Agriculture applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain web and mobile applications using C#, .NET, Blazor, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Build and enhance front-end and back-end application functionality.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database components.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and technical teams to gather and validate requirements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Participate in Agile SDLC activities including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Demonstrate application enhancements to stakeholders and support user acceptance activities.
  • Recommend improvements to application architecture, development processes, and performance.
