About The Position

Solipsys Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies (RTX), is seeking a talented and highly motivated Software Engineer with experience in Java to join their team in Fulton, MD. This entry-level position focuses on developing innovative new features for a real-time situational awareness Command & Control Systems (C2) using Java. The role involves designing, architecting, and coding critical capabilities within an active Agile environment, working collaboratively with a team to find innovative solutions and deliver high-quality software. The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret level).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to start.
  • Less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in programming multithreaded systems.
  • Experience in software development using Java or C++.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

  • Strong computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms and information retrieval.
  • Relevant work experience using SW Development tools (e.g. Maven, Apache Ant, Jenkins, etc).
  • Relevant work experience with full life cycle development including exposure to software requirements, design, development, debug and test.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative new features for a new real-time situational awareness Command & Control Systems (C2) using Java.
  • Design, architect and code critical capabilities in an active Agile environment.
  • Work in a highly collaborate team environment to design, architect and innovate software solutions.
  • Support engineering process improvements, audits and peer reviews.
  • Update documentation related to test, verification, and design activities.
