About The Position

Samsara is seeking recent or upcoming graduates to join their team and help shape the future of connected operations. As a New Grad Software Engineer, you will immediately dive into challenging, real-world projects with the freedom and responsibility of a full-time engineer. The role offers a greenfield opportunity for growth and a high degree of ownership from day one, allowing you to build and innovate with a tangible impact on global customers. New Grads will have access to the latest AI tools to accelerate their work and learning. Depending on the team, responsibilities can range from building backend infrastructure for the IoT platform, scaling data ingestion and storage systems, to full-stack development creating user experiences, and working on embedded software for Samsara hardware, including edge AI and real-time data processing. The company uses Golang for backend, TypeScript and React for web, GraphQL for data access, and React Native for mobile. Direct experience with this stack is not required, but experience with similar technologies is encouraged.

Requirements

  • Current Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Expected graduation date in Winter/Spring of 2027.
  • Experience with Golang, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, or React Native is strongly encouraged.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and self-driven nature, shown through hackathons, side projects, or a desire to understand how things work.
  • Ability to tackle hard problems and own them end-to-end.
  • AI-forward mindset, with experience weaving AI into work processes.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working well independently and across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build and innovate on challenging, real-world projects.
  • Develop backend infrastructure for the IoT platform.
  • Scale data ingestion and storage systems.
  • Create intuitive user experiences across the full stack.
  • Partner closely with product and design teams to iterate on features.
  • Strengthen the infrastructure behind the React Native app.
  • Build and maintain software that runs directly on Samsara hardware, spanning areas like edge AI, multimedia frameworks, power management, and real-time data processing.
