About The Position

The AI Software Engineer designs, develops, and maintains AI-enabled applications, with an emphasis on integrating large language models into business workflows. The role partners with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, implement well-tested solutions, and support AI services in production. It contributes to codebases, documentation, and operational support processes while following secure engineering practices and established development standards. Under the guidance of senior engineers, the position supports experimentation and evaluation of AI tools and frameworks and improves user experiences through automation and AI-assisted capabilities aligned with firm objectives. The role develops AI-driven applications and integration points, researches AI technologies, and maintains documentation for AI systems and processes. It implements scoped AI features—including language-model integrations, prompts, and retrieval workflows—supports existing applications and automations, participates in code reviews, and provides application support as needed. It also coordinates assigned follow-up work, helps resolve issues under oversight, and escalates critical issues using established runbooks and escalation paths.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least two years of experience in application development.
Development experience with one or more of the following: front-end development (React, AngularJS, .NET MVC, or similar); backend development (C#, NodeJS); database servers (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or similar); SQL development (queries, functions, stored procedures); NoSQL (Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or similar); cloud technologies (Azure); business intelligence technologies (ADF, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI, or similar); mobile development (Xamarin, Swift, Objective-C, or similar); or CI/CD pipelines (such as GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, or GitLab Runners).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
At least one year of experience with cloud technologies.
Experience with artificial intelligence or machine learning.
Experience integrating large language models into IT systems.
Experience troubleshooting application issues using logs, monitoring tools, and debugging techniques.
Experience with the Microsoft development stack, including .NET, C#, and Azure.
Microsoft developer certifications.
AI or machine learning certifications, such as Microsoft AI-900 or AI-102.
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio or VS Code.
Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps or GitHub.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Azure SQL.
Experience with Microsoft Entity Framework.

Responsibilities

Develop AI-driven applications and integration points.
Research and evaluate AI technologies for potential implementation.
Design and maintain documentation for AI systems and processes.
Collaborate with business units to clarify AI solution requirements.
Coordinate technical efforts related to AI system issues and optimizations.
Build and maintain documentation for internally developed and third-party integrated systems.
Implement AI features, including large language model integrations, prompts, and retrieval workflows, under guidance.
Proactively monitor and support existing applications and automations.
Integrate AI functionalities into existing systems to enhance user experience for defined use cases and scoped deliverables.
Support AI Engineering and IT professionals and provide guidance on issue resolution under oversight from team leads.
Escalate critical issues to management and implement timely resolution strategies based on runbooks and established escalation paths.
Coordinate and organize follow-up for assigned action items from team meetings.
Provide Level IV support on specific applications as needed.
Participate in code reviews as a reviewer and author, and remediate findings to ensure quality and security in AI applications.
Monitor and support existing AI applications and automations by reviewing alerts and dashboards and performing routine checks.
Perform other duties as required.
