About The Position

We are transforming how we solve challenging and impactful business and technical problems in Growth Tech by maximizing agentic development tools such as Code Puppy, Claude Code and OpenAI Codex. We will use AI coding agents extensively across plan, spec, design, implementation, testing, refactoring, documentation, and operational workflows while developing practical standards for building scalable, reliable, secure production systems. We are looking for an experienced software engineer and technical leader who can both ship high-quality, scalable systems and define the engineering practices for AI-agent-native development. As the Distinguished Software Engineer, you will lead the team in redesigning how work is specified, delegated to coding agents, reviewed by humans, tested, integrated, secured, and released, while embedding system architecture best practices directly into agentic coding workflows. You will enhance the team's effectiveness through mentorship, collaboration, and thought leadership, advocating for ideas that optimize for long-term success while maintaining business momentum. Your role will have a significant impact on the organization and Walmart's business growth. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are eager to lead and innovate, we invite you to apply. About the team Our team operates at the intersection of software engineering, data, AI systems, and rapid experimentation. We build platforms that enable intelligent automation at scale, ranging from agent orchestration to customer-facing AI systems. We emphasize iteration speed, practical impact, and systems that learn from usage. The work often involves ambiguous problem spaces where we define patterns as we build them.
