About the team: Our team manages enterprise-scale big data platforms, delivering stable and governed data warehouse and lake solutions. We develop advanced platform capabilities supporting large-scale data needs across business domains, enabling applications, reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives. Focused on reliability, scalability, and innovation, we integrate cloud-native architectures and AI agents to enhance system performance. Emphasizing operational excellence, continuous improvement, and technical leadership, the team ensures robust, enterprise-grade platforms that drive business value and support strategic objectives across Walmart’s ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in designing and building scalable, cloud-native software systems and AI-powered solutions.
  • Strong technical leadership with experience driving architectural integrity and operational excellence across engineering teams.
  • Deep knowledge of AI agents, Big Data, and reliability engineering to deliver resilient, high-performing services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the full software development lifecycle, including DevOps and CI/CD best practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to align cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to high standards in design, testing, and delivery, with a focus on quality and customer impact.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in performance optimization.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native, AI-powered software systems and intelligent automation solutions.
  • Translate domain-level strategies into system-level implementations, ensuring architectural integrity and reliability.
  • Drive operational excellence through technical guidance, code reviews, and strategic architectural decisions.
  • Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices to ensure resilient, observable, and performant services.
  • Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks, improving system scalability and developer experience.
  • Mentor engineers to foster continuous learning and uphold high standards in design and delivery.
  • Innovate and build new capabilities in the Big Data space focused on improving Spark job performance and optimizing workloads.
  • Develop new approaches to meet Big Data SLAs while reducing cloud capacity requirements.
