Sift is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and own developer infrastructure and testing environments that help engineers ship software faster and with greater confidence. The role involves designing systems that let engineers create complete, production-like environments on demand to test changes, simulate realistic workloads, and validate correctness. As AI coding agents become more integrated into development workflows, this engineer will build infrastructure that lets agents independently test, debug, and validate generated code. The position is a foundational, high-ownership opportunity to architect and scale the infrastructure used to develop, test, and ship Sift’s software. Sift is a data infrastructure platform for hardware engineering teams. It turns high-frequency telemetry into engineering insights for mission-critical machines, including rockets, satellites, autonomous vehicles, energy systems, and defense platforms. The company was founded by former SpaceX engineers. Sift is headquartered in Marina Del Rey, California, and collaborates in person twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays, with a full-week gathering every two months. Candidates may relocate to Los Angeles or work from the San Francisco office. U.S. person eligibility is required: candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals such as asylees or refugees, in compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations. The salary range is $180,000–$230,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.
