About The Position

Social Finance, LLC is hiring a Software Engineer, AML in Seattle, Washington. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, architect, and implement end-to-end solutions spanning frontend and backend components, using programming languages, frameworks, and technologies to deliver high-quality, scalable applications. The role partners with senior engineers in the Anti-Money Laundering function to consult on business needs and develop solutions, techniques, metrics, dashboards, and data visualizations. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, secure server-side applications and APIs; working with databases and data models; building and maintaining data pipelines for processing and analysis; optimizing performance and system stability; participating in architecture discussions and technical decisions; applying software design patterns and best practices; and testing components with unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. Part-time telecommuting is an option, with hybrid work from SoFi's Seattle offices.

Requirements

Master’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline.
Two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special skills: Java, Python, AWS, Agile Development Methodology, Test Driven Development, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD Pipelines, Jira, Github/Gitlab or another source code repository management tool, Springboot, React, SQL, Data Structures, JavaScript, Design Patterns, Operating Systems, Microservices, and Docker.
Any suitable combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, architect, and implement end-to-end solutions involving frontend and backend components.
Partner with senior engineers in the Anti-Money Laundering function to understand business needs and develop solutions, techniques, metrics, dashboards, and data visualizations.
Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure server-side applications and APIs.
Work with databases and data models to manage and store information effectively.
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for efficient data processing and analysis.
Optimize performance and maintain system stability.
Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decisions.
Follow software design patterns and best practices throughout development.
Conduct unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure application reliability and functionality.
