Keeper Security is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, build and maintain mobile automation solutions for our native iOS and Android applications. This is a 100% remote position, with an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule for candidates based in the El Dorado Hills, CA or Chicago, IL metro areas. As a SDET focused on mobile automation, you will build and maintain automated test frameworks for Keeper’s native iOS and Android applications. This role emphasizes automation development, CI/CD integration and mobile-specific testing infrastructure rather than primarily manual testing. You will work closely with Mobile Engineering, QA and Product teams to improve testability, expand automation coverage and ensure mobile features are reliable and release-ready throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software testing, SDET or test automation roles, including significant mobile automation experience
  • Hands-on experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium, XCUITest, Espresso or similar tools
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Swift, Kotlin, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Experience designing and maintaining scalable automated test frameworks
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience testing native applications across simulators, emulators and physical devices
  • Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working closely with software engineers to improve testability and resolve complex defects
  • Strong understanding of mobile application lifecycles, release processes and platform-specific behavior
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across Engineering, Product and QA teams
  • Ability and willingness to use AI-assisted tools effectively to improve automation development, debugging, analysis and documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Due to this role’s involvement in FedRAMP environments, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud-based mobile device testing platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs or Firebase Test Lab
  • Experience with mobile performance, reliability or network-condition testing
  • Familiarity with mobile accessibility and UX testing best practices
  • Experience testing security-sensitive, identity or cybersecurity applications
  • Familiarity with App Store and Google Play release workflows

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks for native iOS and Android applications
  • Build and extend automated test suites for functional, regression and integration coverage
  • Integrate mobile test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Bitrise, GitHub Actions or similar platforms
  • Execute automated tests across simulators, emulators and physical devices
  • Partner with mobile engineers to improve application testability and automation coverage
  • Investigate test failures, identify root causes and improve automation stability and reliability
  • Contribute to mobile automation architecture, tooling standards and testing best practices
  • Identify gaps in automated coverage and prioritize high-value test scenarios
  • Evaluate and adopt new mobile automation tools and technologies where appropriate
  • Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot or similar platforms to improve test development, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation and workflow efficiency
