About The Position

This position is essential, meaning the duties this job performs are critical to the continued operations of the Ohio Department of Public Safety during a public safety emergency. Whoever fills this position will be required to report for duty during any public safety emergency. The Ohio Department of Public Safety - Director's Office/Information Technology (Application Development) is seeking candidates for this role. The primary technology for this position is the Microsoft .Net Environment, with Structured Query Language (SQL) as secondary technology.

Requirements

  • Option 1: 60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology (Microsoft .Net Environment).
  • Option 2: Completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems AND 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology (Microsoft .Net Environment).
  • Option 3: Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; AND 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology (Microsoft .Net Environment).
  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
  • Possessing the experience in the required, primary technology (Microsoft .Net Environment) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
  • Possessing the required technology related experience (Microsoft .Net Environment and Structured Query Language (SQL)) listed in the position description.

Responsibilities

  • Performs impacts analyses to identify interdependencies.
  • Assist with design reviews.
  • Creates detailed test designs & test plans.
  • Coordinates execution of unit & system test scripts, debugging efforts & defect tracking, support of user acceptance testing, & software implementation & deployment tasks.
  • Leads the development, implementation & monitoring of IT quality assurance standards & testing.
