About The Position

Tecsys is seeking a dynamic Software Development Manager to lead teams of passionate professionals responsible for the design, analysis, and development of world-class supply chain management solutions for the healthcare, third-party logistics, and retail sectors. The Software Development Manager will oversee the development efforts and day-to-day challenges of teams responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining SaaS software, helping them reach their full potential. You will evaluate existing solutions in order to contribute to technical decisions, define projects and resource timelines, monitor project schedules, and ensure team objectives and milestones are achieved. You will manage a highly skilled and experienced team of developers who have demonstrated success at Tecsys, guiding them in the continuous evolution of development practices, including the effective and responsible adoption of AI-assisted software engineering to improve productivity, quality, and delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in team and project management within a SaaS environment
  • Thrives on challenges, energetic, and able to motivate others
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for teamwork
  • Experience in team leadership and change management
  • Experience in team development, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and coaching
  • Strong knowledge of agile values and principles, with practical experience applying them
  • College diploma or university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada, OR, have a valid Canadian work permit.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and lead teams of developers, lead developers, test automation developers, and quality assurance analysts
  • Develop and communicate a clear strategic vision and well-defined project objectives
  • Establish project timelines, monitor schedules, and ensure milestones and objectives are achieved
  • Collaborate continuously with Product Management and Technical Leadership teams to validate plans and ensure effective solution implementation
  • Lead the team in evolving software development practices, including adopting AI-assisted tools and workflows
  • Oversee and facilitate effective agile practices
  • Help teams identify, evaluate, and implement practical AI use cases to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and speed of delivery
  • Foster motivation and well-being within teams
  • Support team members’ career development and ensure their training needs are met
