About The Position

This role is part of the core team at Amazon building the Checkout experience that hundreds of millions of customers across the world use every day. The Checkout team is part of the Purchase Experience organization, which aims to offer the most trusted and delightfully easy purchase experience on Earth. This team offers the touchpoints that empower customers to collect and manage items they intend to buy, provide critical order details for informed purchase decisions, and surface contextual product and program-related benefits/recommendations to help customers build their basket and deepen their relationship with Amazon. The team owns the software, systems, and processes that enable over 300 teams to innovate on behalf of customers in the final stages of their shopping journey.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
  • Experience working in a high pace environment

Responsibilities

  • Drive Checkout’s strategy to scale our modernized purchasing experience to new use cases, surfaces, and customers across the world.
  • Identify and influence the prioritization of innovative, scalable solutions to enable Checkout to more effectively meet the unique needs of customers.
  • Work closely and collaborate with senior leaders across Amazon, product managers, UX designers, and business intelligence engineers to innovate, measure, analyze, and refine the experiences delivered to millions of customers daily.
  • Lead Checkout 2-pizza teams in the US, as well as partner teams, to identify and prioritize needs, influence up and across the organization, and synthesize a variety of technologies and capabilities to deliver trustworthy and delightful shopping experiences.
  • Innovate on the Checkout experience and build relationships and collaborate with hundreds of internal customer teams that innovate across Checkout.
  • Gain rare insight to Amazon-wide strategic initiatives and priorities.
