Software Development Manager, CBS Monetization

ClioVancouver, BC
$176,000 - $264,000Hybrid

About The Position

Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely, transforming the legal experience for all. The company is seeking a Software Development Manager to join their Engineering team, specifically the Clio Billing System (CBS) team. This team is responsible for building a multi-product, multi-region monetization platform that will enable Clio to rapidly and sustainably expand its product and service offerings. The role involves close partnership with Rev-ops, Sales-ops, CS-ops, Marketing, Finance, and other product teams to define and deliver impactful projects that directly contribute to Clio's revenue goals. Development Managers at Clio are highly technical and hands-on, involved in designing, reviewing, and coding alongside their team. They are expected to support and grow their people, ensure strong execution as a team and leadership group, and build solid technical solutions, fostering a safe and productive environment. This position often requires the manager to wear a technical product manager hat, driving requirement definition across different business units and guiding partners toward pragmatic solutions. The manager will build deep domain knowledge and have ownership over evolving the system. The role is available to candidates local or able to commute to the Burnaby hub, with an expectation to be in the office a minimum of twice per week on two Anchor Days. Clio strives to be both human and high-performing, leveraging artificial intelligence to improve operations while ensuring human review of AI-generated output in recruitment.

  • Growth mindset when it comes to process improvement and new technologies, especially AI
  • Demonstrated ability to hire the best and brightest engineers in a fast-paced job market—and to coach, develop, and retain engineering talent
  • Equally energized by both your own technical work as well as contributing to the career growth of your team
  • Strong opinions that are weakly held, and foster that same attitude in others
  • Belief in providing honest, actionable feedback to your team, and encourage your team to reciprocate
  • Devise roadmaps to guide your team, but aren't beholden to them -- you easily adapt to a constantly changing world
