About The Position

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will develop and own test automation frameworks for Apple's iOS and macOS platforms. The frameworks will run in live CI/CD pipelines to detect regressions and support confident releases. The role spans the software development lifecycle and works closely with software engineers and product managers to incorporate quality into product design and development. The tools, quality findings, and standards established in this role will support faster release cycles and inform product roadmap decisions.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience in SDET, QA automation, or software engineering with a testing focus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and Swift for building automated test frameworks and test tooling.
  • Practical command of the full SDLC and experience embedding quality gates at multiple phases, from design review through release.
  • Proven experience designing and executing multi-layered test strategies across functional, integration, regression, and exploratory methodologies.
  • Direct experience building UI automation with XCUITest or XUI against real Apple platform targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and maintain them as living infrastructure.
  • Applied LLM or generative AI tooling to test generation, failure analysis, or coverage gap identification in a real engineering workflow.
  • Built prompt engineering techniques into QA or developer tooling that measurably improved output quality or throughput.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent depth demonstrated through industry work.

Nice To Haves

  • Shipped quality automation across both iOS and macOS through multiple full release cycles.
  • Drove infrastructure improvements such as framework refactors, pipeline optimizations, or coverage initiatives, with documented impact on defect escape rates or release velocity.
  • Extended automation beyond functional testing into performance, accessibility, or localization validation.
  • Familiarity with photo and video editing applications or media-processing workflows, including testing or validating complex media-related features.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and own test automation frameworks that run in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with software engineers and product managers throughout each sprint, treating quality as a design input.
  • Find quality gaps and provide findings that inform roadmap decisions.
  • Establish quality standards and build tools that help compress release cycles.
  • Design and execute multi-layered test strategies spanning functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and maintain them as ongoing infrastructure.
  • Apply LLM or generative AI tooling to test generation, failure analysis, or coverage gap identification.
  • Use prompt engineering in QA or developer tooling to improve output quality or throughput.
