About The Position
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a leader in cloud computing, and the AWS Partner Network (APN) is a crucial ecosystem of tens of thousands of consulting and technology partners that promote AWS globally. The APN offers services such as validating partner qualifications, lead/opportunity sharing, training, marketing assistance, and funding reimbursement. The AWS Partnerships team supports Partner Sales, the APN, and other elements driving the AWS partner ecosystem, serving partners, customers, and internal teams. This specific team focuses on building external partner-facing public APIs and AWS console applications for co-selling with partners, which is a significant revenue driver for AWS. The team also develops AI/ML applications to provide recommendations and insights to partners, accelerating their deal closures. This role involves building secured, highly available, performant, and scalable systems, web services, products, and integrations between cloud and on-prem applications to support AWS's current and future growth. AWS Partner Systems is seeking a results-oriented, self-driven Development Engineer to help create the next generation of distributed, scalable systems. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment, handling high volumes of data, and tackling complex business contexts that are often defined in real-time. The engineer will design and develop services that process millions of transactions in a secured environment. The ideal candidate has cloud experience, enjoys building, is self-directed, gets things done, is a passionate learner, can mentor and lead teams, and is motivated by big challenges. This position will leverage practical experience in building high-performance, reliable systems in a complex, multi-tiered, distributed environment (Service Oriented Architecture).
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Cloud experience

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with asynchronous workflow

- Strong and implementation experience
- Strong knowledge of web services and protocols
