Software Development Engineer, Amazon Security: ASCOT Engineering

Amazon Security includes experts from across Amazon and AWS who help our customers design, build, operate, and secure their cloud environments. As a member of this team, you will design and build proactive security solutions at scale, working across AWS services and internal teams to reduce risk, accelerate secure adoption, and protect customers who have the highest security bar. You will own the technical direction, delivery, and operational health of these services and/or their components from inception through production. You will have the opportunity to grow and make impact by defining the system architecture, owning and implementing specific components, and shaping the overall experience. Together we build highly available, secure, scalable, distributed and event-driven systems. As an SDE, you will contribute to planning, architecture design, implementation, testing, and process improvement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Nice To Haves
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Contribute to all parts of the software and deployment lifecycle, including documentation, testing and operations.
- Develop new services that enhance security for AWS's global customer base.
- Join a growing team of engineers focused on building transformative security services, working to reinvent how Amazon and our customers perceive and experience security.
- Help set technical standards and shape Amazon Security's overall technical architecture and engineering practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across AWS to design, deliver, and refine solutions that make it easier for our global customers to operate secure and compliant workloads within AWS.
- Work closely with our business team to ensure a clear understanding of the core problem we aim to solve.
- Partner with UX Designer, developers and business stakeholders to create appropriate user stories and a roadmap.
- Design and build proactive security solutions at scale, working across AWS services and internal teams to reduce risk, accelerate secure adoption, and protect customers who have the highest security bar.
