About The Position

We are growing and looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to join the Amazon Kids team. You will be responsible for owning and driving large-scale customer-facing features from inception to delivery and beyond. You will have an opportunity to design, architect and build innovative consumer products used every day by people you know. Our goal is to create a revolutionary experience for parents and kids to enjoy on our Amazon family of devices, as well as Android and iOS devices. Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Owning and driving large-scale customer-facing web applications from inception to delivery and beyond.
• Solving technical challenges in web computing, back-end services, and algorithms.
• Inventing, designing, and building software that solves day-to-day challenges that kids and their parents face.
• Working closely with leadership and product management stakeholders to design simple solutions.
• Maintaining production software in the field.
• Identifying pain points and driving the team to solve them.
• Helping to make the team better, more efficient, and a more enjoyable place to work.
