Software Development Co-op Student (Fall 2026)
About The Position
TechInsights is the information platform for the semiconductor industry, providing actionable, in-depth intelligence to decision makers and professionals. The TechInsights Platform is the world’s largest collection of reverse engineering, teardown, and market analysis in the semiconductor industry. We serve over 650 companies and 150,000 users, including the most successful technology companies who rely on our analysis for informed business, design, and product decisions. This Software Developer Co-op role reports to the Agile Development Manager and works collaboratively with Software Development Architecture and Development teams. The co-op will design and engineer solutions that deliver customer value and meet business requirements. Key responsibilities include participating in software system design, identifying and mitigating development risks, providing real-time DevOps support through bug triage and troubleshooting, and developing code that meets TechInsights' coding standards. The role involves presenting and defending designs to senior Engineers, facilitating knowledge transfer, and maintaining technical documentation. The co-op will occasionally develop proof-of-concepts to validate design concepts and de-risk technical approaches. Focus areas include large-scale image processing and manipulation, circuit engineering workflows and EDA tools, Angular/React front-end GUI development, design for reuse, and website navigation. Under the supervision of senior Engineers, the co-op will learn to quantify technical risks, socialize critical design elements, and participate in engineering debates. This collaborative learning environment emphasizes design iteration, technical problem-solving, and acting as "technical glue" to support the platform's ongoing development.
Requirements
- Pursuing post-secondary education in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline
- Bias for action and iteration, with the ability to move quickly from planning to execution
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to recognize underlying issues and implications of decisions or courses of action
- Well-organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proven ability to set realistic commitments and manage them through to completion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and knowledge transfer
- Background in building technical integrated products, ideally in a SaaS environment
- Knowledge of software concepts and applications with hands-on experience developing software programs
- Knowledge of data and software architecture principles and best practices
- Experience participating in complex software projects and working effectively in an Agile development environment

Responsibilities
- Design software systems that meet or exceed business requirements, including identifying technology stacks, designing for scale and security, mapping requirements to technologies, and defining failover paths
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deploy software systems in collaboration with CloudOps specialists
- Review and provide feedback on Platform Architecture and Design, acting as a unifying force across teams and contributing to platform reliability and code quality
- Implement PoC models to explore difficult technical challenges and present findings to development teams to ensure alignment
- Implement front-end and back-end software solutions, working with development team knowledge resources and leveraging AI for efficient design and implementation
- Review and verify technical proposals/specs from senior developers and coordinate with Engineering teams on technical investigations for buy/partner decisions
- Document all intellectual property related to TechInsights' software platform and embody knowledge about how the platform works
- Contribute to emitting telemetry and monitoring events to support platform observability and performance tracking
- Provide real-time DevOps support, engage in technical problem-solving during platform situations, and work with development teams to correct bugs
- Provide end-customer technical support during high-severity platform situations
- Participate in software system design
