About The Position

State Street Bank and Trust Company is seeking qualified individuals for multiple Application Development/Maintenance positions in Quincy, MA. These roles are hands-on and require collaboration with cross-functional teams. The position involves leading the design and development of data warehouse-based platforms, analyzing business requirements, performing Proof-of-Concepts, supporting the IMS/Back Office suite of applications, and facilitating Cloud Migration and Data Services modernization using State Street’s Enterprise Service Platform. The role also includes providing technical direction, guiding teams on implementations, working with SRE/COE/Exadata teams for capacity and sizing, reviewing and optimizing database performance, developing components independently on Azure/Snowflake/Oracle/COSMOS/Python, supporting QA defect triage, managing releases and automation, performing smoke testing, and working on process improvements and application standardization. Hybrid-remote telecommuting from within the U.S. is permitted.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field
• 5 years of experience as a Software Developer or in any occupation in which experience was gained in software development
• Proven ability to lead the design and development of Data Warehouse based platforms
• Demonstrated experience with Azure, Snowflake, COSMOS BD, Python, or Oracle Exadata
• Demonstrated experience working with business partners to conduct business analysis and requirement definition workshops
• Proven strong understanding of PL/SQL and SQL Tuning
• Demonstrated experience working with Oracle 11g/12c databases including PL/SQL development, SQL, and performance tuning
• Demonstrated experience working with Exadata appliances
• Demonstrated experience working on Data Warehousing projects including design and development

Responsibilities

• Leading the design and development of data warehouse-based platforms
• Working with users across multiple business domains and platforms to analyze, define, and translate their business requirements into technical designs
• Performing Proof-of-Concept to establish design patterns
• Supporting the entire IMS/Back Office suite of applications and working with various development teams
• Experience in State Street’s Enterprise Service Platform to facilitate Cloud Migration and Data Services modernization
• Leading team in terms of functional/technical aspects for Project Delivery and guide the teams on various implementations
• Working with Snowflake SRE/Azure COE/ Oracle Exadata teams to provide the necessary capacity and sizing requirements for various components within the ecology
• Reviewing database performance and implementing the necessary optimization techniques
• Working independently on Azure/Snowflake/Oracle/COSMOS/Python component development
• Providing technical direction on several IMS implementation teams
• QA Support - reviewing the QA test cases prepared by QA Team, analysis and triage of the defects with Dev, QA and BA teams on daily basis during execution period
• Working on Release Management/Automation and performing the smoke testing with every Client onboarding/Production Releases
• Working on Process Improvements, Application Standardization/Streamlining
