About The Position

As the Director, Application Development, you'll lead the technology teams responsible for the BCLASS (Small Business Loan System) and BUF (Business and Farm Loans) applications at CIBC. You'll also play a key advisory and ownership role in the Onboarding and Deposits workstream of the Ascend Program—a strategic initiative focused on replacing core legacy platforms to digitize, automate, and simplify the onboarding and deposits journey for both team members and clients. Your leadership will be essential to ensuring the successful integration and implementation of new and existing systems, directly supporting Small Business Banking at CIBC. You'll oversee the full lifecycle of application development, maintenance, and modernization for Tier 1 systems, supporting business credit origination, adjudication, funding, and insurance operations. In this role, you'll partner with business stakeholders and vendors to drive technology transformation, ensure operational excellence, and foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement within your teams. Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in technical architecture, solutions design, application development, and senior executive stakeholder management.
  • Strong technical background with the depth and breadth to recognize and capitalize on opportunities for effective IT development or usage.
