About The Position

EKN Engineering is seeking a Software Developer II to build and maintain full-stack client-facing applications and SaaS products. The role focuses on improving product speed and efficiency, maintaining application operations and service levels, and contributing to solutions in collaboration with technical teams, clients, Product Managers, and management. The successful candidate brings strong technical expertise, a product mindset, and a hands-on approach to engineering best practices. The developer will use AI-assisted development responsibly, verifying generated code through automated testing and code review. The position also supports secure handling of sensitive customer data and may involve responding to after-hours emergencies as directed by management. Requirements

3–5 years of experience as a full-stack developer.
Proficiency in ReactJS.
Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js, including frameworks such as NextJS, TanStack Start, and NestJS.
Experience with message queuing technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
Experience with API communication patterns such as REST APIs, WebSockets, and RPC.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with system architecture, application design, database design, and query optimization.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code for software design, implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation.
Experience developing applications backed by relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL.
Experience with AWS; Azure or GCP experience is also considered.
Experience with authentication and authorization standards such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, and role-based access control.
Experience handling sensitive data, including encryption, secrets management, and access controls.
Agile development process experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-driven team player able to work independently and multitask.
Proven record of setting and meeting project deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools for production support.

Responsibilities

Develop full-stack web applications to improve software product speed and efficiency and expand the product offering.
Design, develop, and maintain SaaS applications.
Use AI-assisted development responsibly, verifying AI-generated code through automated testing and code review.
Research and adapt to emerging technologies.
Assist in solving technology-related problems.
Respond to after-hours emergencies as directed by management, including incident triage, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Build, deploy, and operate containerized services on Kubernetes through CI/CD pipelines.
Follow secure handling practices for sensitive customer data and maintain accountability for its security.
Work with Product Managers to refine requirements and acceptance criteria before development and provide estimates.
Adhere to company policies.
Assist other technology teams as needed.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
