About The Position

At Space Coast Credit Union (SCCU), the Software Developer II designs, codes, and develops new financial applications and web-based systems, and modifies existing core financial applications and web-based systems. The role designs, develops, tests, integrates, maintains, upgrades, and troubleshoots moderately complex internal and external applications, services, and sites to meet business needs. It also provides application support, collaborates with vendors and internal stakeholders, and develops web security safeguards. The position is a six-month contract-to-hire role with a Monday–Friday schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The developer uses AI tools to support requirements analysis, implementation, testing, documentation, code review, and troubleshooting. They must validate AI-generated output and remain responsible for its correctness, security, maintainability, testing, and alignment with organizational standards. Requirements

1 to 3 years of experience in software analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, integration, deployment, support, and documentation of core and web-based systems following the software development lifecycle, or a combination of applicable experience, education, and training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
Skills with .NET, React, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, SASS, Bootstrap, and WCMS platforms.
Experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps Server, C#, SQL Server and/or other relational databases, and Node.js.
Experience with client-server concepts, object-oriented programming, web services, and Waterfall/Agile development methodologies.
A two-year college degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related academic area, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Respond to end-user trouble calls, resolve routine application software problems, and assist remotely with hardware issues when possible.
Route non-routine support questions as needed.
Track tickets in an incident management system, document problems and resolutions for a shared knowledge base, and escalate or assign issues for higher-level support.
Design, develop, test, and integrate moderately complex internal and external core and web applications, services, and sites; maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot them to fulfill business needs.
Assist in determining costs and schedules for software projects using current and proven software engineering practices.
Provide tier III technical support for staff using internal and external core and web applications and systems.
Consult vendors, IT team members, users, and department managers to determine requirements for new or modified software and hardware.
Test new hardware and software configurations for usability, proper function, and cross-browser capability.
Develop web security safeguards and technologies.
Meet assigned project deadlines and goals.
Review, analyze, and modify application systems, including coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
Analyze and resolve application-system problems; detect, diagnose, and report related problems.
Use AI to analyze requirements, identify questions and gaps, explore implementation approaches, generate or refactor code, explain existing code, and assist with troubleshooting.
Create clear AI prompts and context that communicate objectives, business and application context, technical requirements, constraints, coding standards, acceptance criteria, existing patterns, examples, and expected output formats.
Use iterative prompting and context refinement rather than relying on a single AI response.
Use AI where appropriate to create or improve tests, documentation, code-review summaries, implementation checklists, deployment instructions, release notes, troubleshooting guidance, and knowledge articles.
Use AI to help identify security concerns, inappropriate dependencies, error-handling gaps, maintainability issues, missing tests, technical debt, and potential performance concerns.
Validate AI-generated code and content before use and ensure output is correct, secure, maintainable, properly tested, and aligned with organizational standards.
