About The Position

As a Software Developer on the SAS EVAAS (Education Visualization and Analytics System) team, you will help develop a web application used by educators to uncover insights from the data our tools provide. You will have the opportunity to contribute across the full design and development lifecycle, from early concepts through delivery and ongoing improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field with 2-5 years of professional full-time experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience with: Java programming
  • At least 2 years of experience with: Developing and delivering Web-based applications
  • At least 2 years of experience with: Relational databases
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Curious, passionate, authentic and accountable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Spring Framework
  • Experience with Maven and the Project Object Model (POM)
  • Experience with various static or interactive code scanning tools
  • Experience documenting decisions, processes, and code
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with Git and GitHub

Responsibilities

  • Utilize your Java and SQL skills to write reliable, well-tested backend code that supports meaningful education insights.
  • Design backend systems and processes that deliver the EVAAS web application to educators in a scalable and repeatable fashion.
  • Work with the team from design through implementation to evolve the EVAAS web application and supporting backend systems.
