About The Position

Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company is seeking a Software Developer, Associate. The position designs, codes, tests, and analyzes software programs and applications; researches, designs, documents, and modifies software specifications throughout the production lifecycle; and analyzes and corrects errors in a timely and accurate manner. The role includes completing a training program, learning development tools and techniques, handling simple development and maintenance assignments, and gradually assisting with analysis and specifications for less complex projects. The position is located in Ridgeland, Mississippi; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Cayce, South Carolina; or Little Rock, Arkansas. A hybrid home/office work schedule is offered.

Responsibilities

Successfully complete the Software Developer training program.
Learn basic tools and techniques necessary to begin productive work.
Complete simple program development and maintenance assignments.
Prepare or update documentation according to department standards.
Report regularly to the Supervisor on training progress, training impressions, and assigned work.
Occasionally perform analysis and develop specifications for less complex projects.
Test applications and features to ensure work is free from defects before sending them to end users for final approval.
Assist with technical support for application systems by troubleshooting, analyzing issues, and correcting problems.
Work independently with little direct supervision.
Provide after-hours and weekend on-call coverage when required.
Work overtime when required to meet project deadlines.
