About The Position

This Software Developer/Analyst will design, maintain, and improve secure, reliable, and user focused information systems that support research activities. This position serves as a critical bridge between technical infrastructure and research operations, ensuring that databases, web based applications, and reporting tools are efficient, accurate, and aligned with project and organizational needs. This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in systems analysis, design, and programming.
  • Experience or working knowledge of PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) based applications, Unix Web hosting paradigms and Unix command lines.
  • Experience with JavaScripts: AngularJS, jQuery, Node.J, Bootstrap, HTML and CodeIgniter.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Values the contributions of others in the work environment.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to present acceptable and original documents to prove identity and authorization to work in the United States no later than the third day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer sciences or related field.
  • Familiarity or experience with program platforms such as A11y, Dockers, RESTful APIs, SMTP, Object Oriented Programming, Tableau, and Python.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and administer databases.
  • Design, develop, implement, maintain, and enhance web-based and computer-based information systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy to meet research and project needs.
  • Develop and migrate legacy code to current standards.
  • Document code, technical and business processes and iteratively refine user documentation and technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain standards, process improvements and documentation.
  • Communicate with and train internal and external clients.
  • Maintain a robust and reliable information system infrastructure including, standards, process improvements and documentation.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and training to both internal and external users.
  • Prepare and disseminate clear instructions for system users and operators, ensuring proper system use and data integrity.
  • Create applications to produce data reports.
  • Ensure the integrity of data security and accuracy of data and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
