The Software Configuration Analyst – Clarity is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and ongoing support of vendor software solutions, including Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products such as the Clarity Project Management tool. This role requires a strong understanding of solution architecture, business processes, and data requirements to ensure optimal system performance, security, and efficiency. The Software Configuration Analyst collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to ensure software functionality aligns with organizational needs. An experienced Clarity PPM Configuration Analyst to support, configure, and optimize project and portfolio management solutions across the organization. This role will partner with PMOs, finance, and IT teams to ensure accurate portfolio planning, financial tracking, resource management, and executive reporting using the Clarity PPM platform.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of software configuration, testing, and maintenance best practices.
  • Strong vendor management and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to identify and manage constraints within vendor platforms, including technical limitations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with vendor-provided software solutions and COTS products.
  • Solid understanding of solution architecture and business processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring software solutions meet quality standards and operate efficiently.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and performance optimization to support system reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field with two (2) or more years of experience in software configuration, development, testing, system administration, and/or maintenance [OR] Associate's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline with four (4) or more years of experience in software configuration, development, testing, system administration, and/or maintenance [OR] High School Diploma/GED with degree with six (6) or more years of experience in software configuration, development, testing, system administration, and/or maintenance

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate brings strong functional and technical expertise in Clarity PPM, with the ability to translate business needs into efficient system configurations while maintaining data integrity and governances
  • 3+ years of Clarity or similar project management tool experience
  • Project Management Certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, configure, test, validate, implement, and manage Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software products, customizing solutions as needed to meet business requirements and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Perform routine configuration and maintenance activities to ensure software systems operate securely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Identify and work within constraints of vendor platforms while optimizing performance and functionality despite technical limitations, licensing restrictions, or integration challenges.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with software vendors, proactively addressing platform-related issues and ensuring timely resolution to minimize system downtime and disruption.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
